Just another day in the life of an offshore medic

At CPA Group our team is deployed far and wide and encounter every possible challenge. The CPA Group professional is highly trained and experienced, accustomed to most things they are likely to meet in their role.
On top of the usual professional challenges expected by security, fire & rescue or medical staff, other issues can arise. Nature, for example, can throw up a few curve balls.
Samantha Pearce, who runs our medical operations out of our Perth office, is herself a Registered Nurse with remote mining and O&G experience. Occasionally, Samantha will fill in a roster on one of our sites and a recent example of an offshore deployment had more than enough thrills!
The initial indication that this would not be a normal day was provided by satellite images.
It was heading this way! A quick swim was probably not advised!
The good news is that Samantha was calm and took it all in her stride!
And all’s well that ends well with the day ending with some barra that was missed by the sharks!!
