Kevin Waterman visits the US for the Global Fire Department Instructors Conference

Late last month, Kevin Waterman attended the 2017 Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the USA. It’s a vast, annual, international event for the benefit of all who work in the Fire and Rescue services, attracting almost 34,000 attendees this year.

The FDIC is a training, social, and networking event and trade show, which Mr Waterman has attended for the past four years. It boasted nearly 800 exhibitors, and people from 58 countries.

Attendees convene for one week each year to experience talks, seminars, mixers, and presentations connecting them to others in their industry, as well as award ceremonies and special events honouring those firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live.
