Corporate Protection Australia Group provides emergency support services at many many sites across Australasia. Our range of services includes security, fire & rescue and medical. This ensures that we have the capability to assist our clients, whatever the emergency.

Of course, most of the time, our highly developed emergency support skills, training and procedures are not required but in the rare event that we are called on, CPA Group stands ready to assist.

CPA Group recently mobilised to a number of sites for Peabody Energy including medical staffing at Moorvale, North Goonyella and Coppabella mines.

As extensively reported in the media, on Sept. 27, North Goonyella mine personnel observed dark smoke coming from the mine, indicating a fire in a portion of the underground area.  As part of the emergency response at the site, access to the underground mine and surface areas of North Goonyella was restricted through exclusion zones.

Although CPA Group was contracted to provide the medical service at the site, our security team under National Operations Manager, Cris Murphy, was able to assist immediately with access control support.

This involved the immediate deployment of a team of security professionals. The team consisted of 8 officers on the ground plus a supervisor.

Our team is responsible for ensuring only authorised personnel are allowed entry to the mine site due to the incident on site.

We were on location for three weeks but have been advised to stand down during the week commencing 15th October.
