At Corporate Protection Fire & Rescue, we specialise in managing fire appliance builds tailored to our clients’ specific emergency response needs. Recently, we successfully project-managed the construction of fire appliances for three gas sites and an emergency response trailer for one of our mining clients.
Custom Emergency Response Vehicle Builds
Beyond fire appliances, we offer project management services for a wide range of emergency response vehicles. For one of our key gas clients, we oversaw the build of an ambulance, a fast attack vehicle, a heavy Scania fire appliance, and a rescue and hazardous materials trailer. More recently, we managed the construction of a fire appliance for a leading coal client in the Bowen Basin.
Selecting the Right Chassis
Some clients already own a chassis, while others rely on our expertise to select the most suitable one. We take into account operational intent, site requirements, and vehicle availability, with popular choices including Isuzu, Hino, and Scania models.

Understanding Client Needs
Every mining and gas site has unique emergency response requirements. Factors such as water and foam capacity, terrain conditions, and necessary equipment determine the ideal fire appliance design. While some clients provide their own equipment, we can also source and fit the appropriate tools for their site-specific risks.
The Build Process
- Design & Collaboration
We work closely with our clients and their emergency response teams to refine the vehicle’s design. Securing a production slot early is crucial, and our strong partnership with QuikCorp ensures efficient scheduling and priority access to the build line.
- Manufacturing & Inspections
As the build progresses, we conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to agreed specifications. These inspections also allow clients to track key milestones and make adjustments if needed.
- Testing & Quality Assurance
Once completed, each appliance undergoes rigorous testing, including pump flow rate checks, lighting and locker inspections, and siren functionality assessments, ensuring the vehicle is operationally ready.
- Training & Site Integration
The final stage involves training the client’s emergency response team on the new appliance and securing necessary site approvals. While this process can be time-intensive, it is essential to ensure seamless integration and enhanced site safety.
