Staff Spotlight – Paul Ellison

We recently heard from from Paul Ellison, one of our committed FCC (Field Contract Coordinators) who has years of experience as a paramedic. 

What is your professional background?

I bring 32 years of experience as a paramedic, including 22 years with the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), where I served both as a frontline paramedic and a station officer. Over the past decade, I’ve transitioned into the mining and resources sector, working with various companies to provide emergency care in remote environments. For the last four years, I’ve been working with Corporate Protection Australia Health & Medical (CPAHM).

My formal qualifications include a Diploma of Health Science in Pre-Hospital Care, a Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic) from Monash University in Victoria, and a Graduate Certificate in Rural and Remote Paramedic Practice from James Cook University. These studies have supported my practical experience and deepened my capabilities in delivering care in both urban and remote settings.

What are your primary responsibilities?

• Managing several sites assigned to me speaking directly with the clients to ensure the delivery of service was meeting client expectations and working with the CPA management team to develop and implement strategies to improve upon service delivery.
• Working with site staff to ensure that they had the necessary resources to provide the service to the client, including equipment placement, servicing repairs and maintenance, Consumables, pharmacology, vehicle servicing and maintenance, Clinic and site audits, Medical Compliance audits, staff rostering and recruitment.
• Where necessary fill in on shifts as the need arises.

What do you find most challenging or fulfilling in your role?

Time management is a challenge, getting to work with all our people across the sites is quite fulfilling.
