We’re proud to shine the spotlight on one of our dedicated Site Security Supervisors, Terri-Ann also known as Tezza whose commitment to safety, leadership, and operational excellence makes a meaningful impact every day. With a strong background in industrial and corporate security, she plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of a major hazard facility while leading her team with professionalism and resilience. Balancing a demanding career with life as a single mother of four, she brings determination, organisation, and heart to everything she does, both on site and at home.
I have a strong background in industrial and corporate security, with experience overseeing critical‑infrastructure sites and high‑risk operational environments. My career has focused on implementing compliance frameworks, conducting security audits, improving operational procedures, and leading the frontline security team at Orica. Over the years, I’ve developed a well‑rounded skill set that includes risk assessment and access control management.
Where are you working now?
I am currently working as a Site Security Supervisor at Orica Yarwun, where I coordinate day‑to‑day security operations for a major hazard facility. My role involves managing the security team, ensuring compliance with Orica’s security standards and regulatory obligations, overseeing contractor access, and maintaining a safe, secure environment for all personnel onsite.
What other Corporate Protection sites have you worked?
Only Orica Yarwun thus far.
What are your primary responsibilities?
My primary responsibilities as a Site Security Supervisor include ensuring compliance with site procedures, conducting audits, preparing reports, supervising the security team, managing access control systems and liaising with Management, Orica staff, Contractors, Truck Driver’s and Company Administrators.
What do you find most challenging or fulfilling in your role?
I find it especially fulfilling to play a key role in maintaining the safety and security of a high‑risk industrial facility. Knowing that my work helps protect people and operations brings a strong sense of purpose. I also enjoy developing the security team and seeing continuous improvement. It is fulfilling knowing that my team plays a critical role in ensuring that Orica operates safely and efficiently.
What do you find most challenging?
The most challenging aspect is balancing work and personal life, as I am a single mother of four. Managing a demanding security leadership role while ensuring my children have the support, stability, and attention they need requires strong organisation, resilience, and a high level of commitment. Despite these challenges, I remain dedicated to performing at a high standard, leading my team effectively, and maintaining a professional approach to every aspect of my role.
And what do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my children creating beautiful memories, these are the moments I cherish the most.
