Highlights from the AFAC Trade Show

At Corporate Protection, our core values are encapsulated by the acronym CPAFIT: Commitment, Passion, Accountability, Family, Innovation, and Team. A testament to our dedication to Innovation is our active participation in industry-leading events.

This year, the Australasian Fire Authority Council (AFAC), the premier body for emergency services in Australasia, hosted its annual trade show in Brisbane, a stone’s throw from our headquarters. Our fire and rescue team, including members Chris Maguire (General Manager of Operations), Kevin Waterman (National Operations Manager), and Tony Dell (Field Contract Coordinator), were present to engage with clients, scout for cutting-edge equipment, and proudly represent Corporate Protection.

Kevin Waterman and Ryan Haggerty took part in AFAC’s Professional Development Program, focusing on Firefighter Health and Safety. The insights gained from this program, ranging from PPE maintenance to bushfire respiratory protection, are invaluable. Such knowledge equips us to minimise risks for our team, especially from contaminants they might encounter during operations.

A notable mention is Tony Dell’s participation in the Hydrogen Fire Safety Forum. With Queensland’s recent launch of a $4.5 billion Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Jobs Fund, it’s imperative for us to stay ahead of the curve. Tony’s involvement ensures that Corporate Protection is poised to offer top-notch solutions to our clients in the burgeoning hydrogen sector within Queensland and interstate.

Corporate Protection’s presence at events like the AFAC trade show and PDP program underscores our unwavering commitment to innovation and industry best practices and our ability to provide the best emergency response personnel with industry experts providing them guidance throughout their work for our clients.
