Protecting lives
by Jenifer Hasbun
At Corporate Protection our proud boast is “Protecting your people, assets and reputation.”
One of the many reasons we are chosen by our blue ribbon clients is that we make this boast a reality, never more so than when clients entrust our ‘bundled’ model of services. On many sites, our team includes a combination of medical, security and fire & rescue professionals. Clients have discovered the synergy of having a single provider, and enhanced service delivery is number one!
Our commitment to the remote rural communities in which we work has been a constant during the 24 years of CPA.
A recent amazing case demonstrated to all that our team delivers – saving a life and enhancing our client’s reputation with an important stakeholder while bringing critical support for the remote communities in which we operate.
In October 2021, we were contacted about a life-threatening accident adjacent to one of our client sites in Queensland. A local landowner had suffered serious injuries after falling from his horse while mustering cattle.
The Corporate Protection Group team brought our full weight of resources to bear and provided a full suite of emergency response services including medical and security team members so our capability to respond was enormous and it paid dividends.
The accident victim was driven to our site clinic following the fall and was diagnosed with a collapsed lung with severe pain and respiratory distress requiring morphine and oxygen.
While the patient was managed by 2 CPAHM Medics, the CPA Security team activated QAS and handled calls to the CPA doctor who was overseeing the medical response as prescribed in our clinical governance protocols.
Why 2 CPAHM Medics? Our off duty medic rushed to the scene to assist the on-duty medic, demonstrating true Corporate Protection values including commitment and passion.
Considering the remoteness of the site, it was not surprising that the QAS Chopper and road ambulance support arrived more than 2 hours later. The CPA security team organised the vehicles to shine headlights to facilitate the rotary wing arrival. Did we mention the CPA core values of innovation and teamwork?!!!
The patient was soon recovering in ICU.
Our client was very happy to see their neighbours supported, local landowners were delighted to know there was first rate care on their doorstep.
- Lives saved
- Client reputation enhanced
- Community supported
Another day’s work for the Corporate Protection group of companies.
