We had the opportunity to speak with Louise, who generously spared some time from her busy schedule to allow us to learn more about her and her role at Corporate Protection Australia.

What is your professional background?
I’m a painter & decorator by trade. I started out working for a collection agency when I was 17, then went into hospitality, and then I moved into horticultural work.  Once I left Tasmania and moved to Queensland, I worked in retail for 8 years as 2IC and now I work as a Security Officer for Corporate Protection Australia.

Where are you working now?
At this present time I am mainly working at QAL and WICET sites as a Security Officer.

What are your primary responsibilities?
My responsibilities include maintaining secure premises, vehicle and foot patrols, administration duties, drug and alcohol testing and first aid.

What other Corporate Protection sites have you worked?
The other sites I have worked at are ACCIONA Solar Farm, ORICA and NRG.

What do you find most challenging or fulfilling in your role?
I have found since starting as a Security Officer learning new skills can be challenging, but also fulfilling, once they all sink in. Changing from site to site is a little challenging as you must remember how to operate their systems as every site is different, but who doesn’t love a challenge. I have met so many amazing people, whether I am working along side of them or just letting them on and off site.

And what do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, play pool in local competitions and paint pictures on canvas. Oh, and I’d better not forget, having a few drinks with friends.

What would your manager say?
Well Rob has said to myself previously that he has heard great things about me from all the sites that I have worked at so far. I believe he would say I was smashing it. (Well, I hope so).
